I second the Tony Robbins recommendation.

One of my science faves.  When I first read it, I filled a notebook with inspired scratchings.  My copy is crammed with underlinings and asterisks.

I second the Tony Robbins recommendation.

Few people know that Bandler sued him for that.  He only attended part of an NLP training.

It is a great book, and a great NLP overview.

Really? I remember reading in the foreword to one of Bandler's books, he said he respected Robbins for his genius and his ethics giving credit where it's due. I think the book was "Time for a change". Not to mention in the Robbins book "unlimited power", he speaks of working with Bandler...

There's a lot of rumors and backstabbing in the NLP community, hard to tell what's true or not.

I'm from the Kenrick Cleveland school of NLP, and he was once a student of Bandler's; he also had some interesting stories about Bandler.

Bandler is notorious for "darksiding"(using NLP to harm someone) clients to get return business as well as doing it to people who fell out of his favor. Kenrick told how when he finally decided to leave Bandler's wing, Bandler executed a "values destroyer" pattern which left him depressed and almost suicidal for months, all because he was angry that Kenrick would leave him.

I once personally heard a Bandler seminar where he did an "impotence" pattern on several of the males in the audience, he can be a nasty S.O.B. . Brilliant no doubt, but twisted.

Georg Groddeck

THE BOOK OF THE IT

Recommended in the Innate Power Response Booklet. So far, it's amazing. Written in the form of letters to a friend, the book rambles about the "logic" of the unconscious and how it expresses itself through the body-mind. Freud borrowed the term Id from Groddeck's idea of the "it".

"Woman's vagina is an insatiable Moloch. Where is to be found the vagina which would be content with a penis the size of a little finger when it could have one as big as a child's arm? The phantasy of woman is constantly preoccupied with the all-powerful penis."

We need to get a scan of that in the future.

Out of print, and used copies are pricey on Amazon.

And yet it is so amazingly good.

I got it from interlibrary loan. I may try to scan it, as I would like to have a permanent copy myself.

It is giving me about 40% increase in understanding of my psi.lo.cybin experiences.

Look at that jawline...makes me long for a slightly overactive pituitary gland.

In all my years, I don't know why I never collected the old Bruce Lee books from Ohara.  At any rate, they are now available in one binding with digitally retouched photos.

I'm sure most of you know this book.

Just started reading it.  Mucho enjoy.

Nice work C5K.  I find myself going back and re-reading a paragraph.  It's like my mind wants to go back and re-read what was just read here and there.

I talked with Hyatt about TSON (the self overcoming of nihilism)

He said "It is a dangerous book."

And, my first Hyatt assignment was to read chapter 6, 3 times, and then write a report.

Interesting . . . I am immediately more interested in it. . .

did he say in what way it is "dangerous?" I noticed my hardcover copy has some  sharp edges...

Most people shy away from and deny nihilism.

This book shows many ways to embrace and move through it.

I suspect he was referring to the undoing/deprogramming effect of moving through nihilism and coming out the other end.
